Functions of the Robot - Designing for how things work :

  • Data

    • Humidity

    • Temperature

    • Light %

    • Presence of Water

    • Geography of the region

    • Air quality

      • Detection of toxins

    • Climate

    • Microbial environment

  • Communication with Microbes

    • Take in info from microbes

    • Communication would be the actions needed to be done by the robot

  • Housing to incubate

  • Ability to walk/ move

  • Time

    • Provide an incubation space that allows for ideal (ideal situations, light, humidity, etc, no predators) initial growth

    • No chemical/human intervention in the growth process

    • Process of growing/spreading of plants is increased because the robots can house many plant incubators and can travel around to place plants.

Stories of the Robot:

  • Story of succession - (Existing stories of succession: Old mining areas, now overgrown with plants )

    • Metropolitan Cities (Prettier and detailed) - LATER AFTER DETAILED DRAWINGS

    • Ghost towns

    • Nuclear power plant areas/ explosions

    • Superfund sites

  • Metropolitan Cities:

    • Housing / Infrastructure - water tanks ( a plant that can hold water )

    • Street Lamps

    • Cars/subways (Maybe there is a plant out there that can move very fast)

    • Wireless Networking system : like wifi, channeling system for messages

    • Wired networking system : ex: underground wires

    • Sewage systems, water line systems, gas line systems (underground)

    • Material replacements : glass, metal

    • Bridges/walkways/sidewalks

    • Personal items? : Lights, phones, backpacks
